Some people are happy to go with the wind and rock up to the beach with little more than the clothes on their backs and a towel. For others, there\u2019s a whole procedure and detailed beach packing list that needs to be ticked off before they can make their way to the beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essential beach items<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Essential beach items are those that are necessary whether you\u2019re going to the beach for one day, or for a longer beach vacation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are 12 essential things that you shouldn’t forget:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Swimsuit<\/strong> – this ones a given if you want to go for a swim. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Towel<\/strong>\u00a0– you\u2019ll probably want something to lie on. Sand sticking to your entire body isn\u2019t particularly fun.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Sunglasses<\/strong> – whilst sunglasses can make you look super cool and add to your beach look, it\u2019s also important to protect and care for your eyes. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Sun cream <\/strong>– even if you\u2019re not someone who typically burns, protecting your skin is very important. Sun cream helps to prevent sunburn, cancer and ageing.<\/strong> Try to buy a reef-safe sun cream, so you\u2019re not harming the environment<\/strong> when going for a swim. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. SPF lip balm<\/strong> – this is something that\u2019s often overlooked or forgotten, but there\u2019s nothing worse than having sore and burnt lips after a day at the beach. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Sun hat<\/strong> – if you\u2019re spending a long time in the sun, a hat can protect your face from getting burnt, and prevent sunstroke. It\u2019s also useful for keeping the sun out of your eyes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Swim cover-ups<\/strong>\u00a0– having a few cover-ups on hand during your vacation is great. You can walk to the beach in them, or sit in a restaurant, in your swimwear whilst still being dressed respectfully.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Sandals\/flip flops<\/strong> – trainers are not a good idea for the beach. Having sand in your shoes is a horrible feeling. Opt for sandals or flip flops instead for easy removal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Beach bag<\/strong> – sand and sun cream can be the enemy sometimes, so it\u2019s nice to have a separate beach bag that can get a little grimy. You also want a bag big enough to fit everything you need. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Snacks<\/strong> – lying on the beach all day can be hungry work. I like to have some snacks \u2014 crisps, fruit or nuts \u2014 on hand to make sure I don\u2019t get too ‘hangry’. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Water<\/strong> – bring plenty of water for the whole day. Nobody likes sunstroke at the end of the day. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Rubbish bag <\/strong>– a rule of thumb that I like to live by is that you should always leave a place cleaner than you found it. Make sure to clear up all of your rubbish before you leave,<\/strong> and if there\u2019s rubbish that isn\u2019t yours, why not pick that up too?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
